Rehearsal Descriptions & Class Rotations
📸 Professional Headshot
Each camper will receive a professional headshot taken during camp — perfect for choir programs, theater auditions, and personal use. Headshots will be delivered digitally after camp at no additional cost.
🎶 Ensemble Rehearsal
Students rehearse their small-group a cappella piece, focusing on harmony, rhythm, blend, and teamwork. Campers learn how individual voices come together to create a cohesive, confident ensemble sound while preparing music for the final performance. Rehearsals will focus on ensemble listening skills—how to adjust volume, vowel shape, and tone to blend with others. Students learn how great a cappella groups achieve a unified sound by listening as much as they sing.
All campers participate in a large-group festival chorus, learning a shared song that celebrates unity, teamwork, and joy. This ensemble performs together during the final show, creating a powerful, inclusive moment for singers and families.
🎧 Mic Technique & Sound Lab
Campers learn how to use a microphone properly, including distance, projection, and tone control. This class also introduces basic sound equipment—speakers, mixers, and cables—helping students understand how live a cappella performances are amplified and balanced.
🕺 Choreography for Singers
This class teaches age-appropriate movement and staging that enhances musical performance without compromising vocal technique. Students explore spacing, body awareness, and simple choreography to bring energy and confidence to the stage.
🎭 Storytelling Through Music
Students discover how to communicate emotion and meaning through lyrics, facial expression, and vocal color. This class helps singers move beyond “just singing the notes” and into expressive, intentional performance.
👠 Cat Walk Off (Stage Presence Lab)
A fun, confidence-building class focused on posture, movement, and performance attitude. Through playful runway-style activities, students practice walking onstage, owning the space, and performing with confidence and charisma.
In a supportive, low-pressure environment, students explore solo singing skills such as confidence, tone, and musical storytelling. Emphasis is placed on bravery and self-expression rather than perfection.
Students are introduced to vocal percussion through rhythm games and foundational beatbox sounds. This class builds rhythmic awareness, coordination, and creativity while showing how beatboxing supports modern a cappella music.
🎬 Performance Faces & Acting Choices
Campers learn how facial expression, eye focus, and physical intention enhance musical performance. Students practice connecting emotion to sound and making clear performance choices that engage an audience.
🌍 A Cappella in the Real World
This class explores contemporary a cappella outside the classroom—professional groups, social media, live performance, and pop culture. Students learn how a cappella exists today and how singers can continue growing beyond camp.
