Be in the Choir Room at 3:30pm.

3:30pm - 4:30pm - Amelia & Julien will teach you choreography to match a section of the music. You will not be expected to perform the entire piece with choreography. You can use that time to practice the choreography and team up with other singers to put the piece of music together.

MANE ATTRACTION & SPUR OF THE MOMENT

2024-2025 CONTRACT

Doctor’s appointments, sports activities (when possible), work, and all other appointments need to be planned around after school rehearsal times. After school rehearsals are limited and scheduled in advance. Extra rehearsals may be scheduled to prepare for AcaTex, ICHSA, and the end of the year show.

Each member of Mane Attraction and Spur of the Moment will pay a $200 fee in the Fall of 2024 to be used for performance shirts, contest entries, costume rental/maintenance, transportation, and misc items. Families that don’t complete payment in a timely manner will risk losing participation.

Because this organization is one the most visible organizations at Sachse High School and in the community, each member must keep his/her reputation, both academically and socially, above reproach. Smoking, drinking, profane language, misbehavior in other classes at school, and unwarranted behavior outside the classroom will result in dismissal from the group. Gossiping, inappropriate comments, lack of cooperation, and disrespect to the director or any members of Mane Attraction or Spur of the Moment can result in immediate removal from the ensemble.

Members of these ensembles will remain free of negative references to the Sachse High School Choral Program and Sachse High School on facebook.com, youtube.com, twitter, instagram, and similar social media (texting, etc.). Misrepresentation of the SHS Choral Program and/or SHS may result in the automatic dismissal of the participant from the SHS Choral Program.

Since no-pass/no-play governs all UIL events, grades must be kept at passing level every grading period. The first time a student is ineligible, they will be put on probation. The second time will result in dismissal from the group. This will be at the discretion of the director and the Principal of Sachse High School.

Rehearsals and performance dates are given as much in advance as possible to avoid any and all conflicts. Work is not a valid excuse. Participation in all performances up to graduation is mandatory.

All participants will fully complete SHS choir fundraisers. These fundraisers are why participation in these ensembles (especially when it comes to a costly Madrigal Dinner or Spring Show) is cheaper than most groups at Sachse HS, as well as other schools in the area.

Missing or arriving late to rehearsals, missing deadlines given in class, and a poor attitude will affect a student’s grade, the success of the group, your audition for the following year, and may be grounds for dismissal from the group.

A good attitude, dedication, and willingness to work hard must be evident. Maintaining a spot in these performance groups is earned … it is not a gift. Being a member of Mane Attraction and Spur of the Moment will give you many close friends and great memories, but it demands your energy and focus. In other words, "to those whom much is given, much is expected.”

“By completing and returning this form, I certify that I have read and understand my obligations as a member of the 24-25 Sachse High School Vocal Ensemble.”
